Strippers and Strip Clubs Reviewed

A strip club is an adult entertainment venue in which striptease or other erotic or exotic dance is regularly performed. Strip clubs typically adopt a nightclub or bar style, but can also adopt a theatre or cabaret-style. Featured here are some reviews of strip clubs we have visited in Melbourne, Sydney and on the Gold Coast.

Melbourne Strippers and Strip Clubs

Melbourne has some great strip clubs around King Street and the CBD area. Most charge a door entrance fee of around $15, though some offer discounted or free entry to early patrons - generally before 9pm. Private lap dances are available and most venues charge around $50 per lap dance. In melbourne, it is forbidden to touch strippers durring a private lap dance.

Goldfingers
Goldfingers claims to be Melbourne's premier gentleman's club and they are not far of the mark. The venue is the legendary Kilkenny Hotel on the corner of King and Lonsdale Streets. No expense has been spared to elegantly furnish and decorate the venue. The girls working at the venue are stunning and the few that we met were very friendly and happy to sit down and have chat before asking if we were interested in a lap dance. Located at 584 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, Victoria (corner of King St), Goldfingers is open 7 days from 6pm till late. Highly recommended - see website.

The Mens Gallery
The Mens Gallery located at 601 Lonsdale St, Melbourne (near the corner of King St and Lonsdale St) is a high quality gentleman's club. Some very attractive ladies are available. Strippers tend to be very business like, friendly but they don't seem to take the time to sit down and have a chat with you. Overall, a good club to visit.

Showgirls Bar 20
Bar 20 is located at 46 King St, Melbourne and is a great strip club with a nice intimate atmosphere. Our only complaint is the venue is rather small and it does get busy making movement difficult. The bar is also very small, so ordering drinks takes time. We recommend getting there early and finding a seat or a booth.

Centrefolds Lounge
Another King St strip club located in the former Underground night club venue. Does not appear to have been updated or decorated since the 1990's and still smells of sale smoke. Some of the strippers were ok.

Kittens
Kittens has two venues in South Melbourne and Caulfield. Both venues are quite small with South Melbourne being very busy on Friday and Saturday nights.

Dreams Gentlemen's Club
Dreams is located at 1 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. Before opening, Dreams promised to be Australia's first 7 star gentlemans club. I've seen many bad marketing campaigns but can't find words to describe this one. On our one and only visit, we were disappointed. While newly opened and nicely decorated, 7 stars is a bit far fetched. I'll give it a generous 4.5 stars.

Spearmint Rhino
The Spearmint Rhino in Melbourne is also located on King St and nicely decorated. Expect to pay a $20 entrance fee and $100 for a lap dance. While some of the strippers are not unattractive, in our opinion, are not worth $100 for a lap dance. Try one of the other strip clubs in Melbourne.

Gold Coast Strippers and Strip Clubs

Queensland is renowned for its beautiful blonde Aussie women. We have not been to any Brisbane strip clubs (yet), but we have visited a number a strip clubs in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. While on the Gold Coast, we ate out at Hooters - not a strip club but we did enjoy the food. Strip clubs on the Gold Coast charge an entrance and lap dances start at $50 for around 10 - 15 minutes. One big difference with Melbourne strippers - on the Gold Coast (and I presume in Brisbane) you are allowed to touch upper body and legs but not the bum or g-string area.

Hollywood Showgirls
Located at 19 Orchid Ave, surfers Paradise. Great venue with some very beautiful strippers. Can get very busy. Allot of young female tourists - difficult to pick the tourists from the strippers.

Players Showgirls
Located at 18 Orchid Ave, across from Hollywood Showgirls. The strippers were hot and the clubs venue had a great atmosphere. Worthy of a visit.

Crazy Horse
3 Orchid Avenue, Surfers Paradise. Never been there, but heard from an unreliable source that it was good.

Toybox Showgirls
Small venue, with a small number of girls working there.

Sydney Strippers and Strip Clubs

Sydney's Kings Cross is well known for its seedy side - adult shops, strip clubs and street hooker. Today Kings Cross is dominated with restaurants, bars and night clubs, with an occasional adult shop and strip club in-between. You would be hard pressed to find a hooker on the street these days - it's illegal.

Visited Kings Cross a few years ago where street salesmen tried selling tickets to get into multiple venues. Well, I won't be going back to Kings Cross anytime soon.

Regarding other strip clubs in Sydney, we have not had a chance to visit any recently, but as soon as we do, we will post a review here.
